Camp Cthulhu is the home for FIlmQuest’s labs and workshops, where filmmakers, writers, and other professionals within the industry share their secrets, insights, and techniques with our guests in a dynamic presentation that will leave all who attend better filmmakers, writers, and storytellers.

The Camp Cthulhu film labs are available to all VIP pass holders or holders of the new Camp Cthulhu pass, that is a new special pass that gives access only to these exclusive labs and workshops. Passes can be purchased now via our TICKETING PAGE and via FilmFreeway.

With workshops from directors, writers, producers, distributors, special presentations, and more, they’re a can’t miss experience and will be held almost everyday of the 2026 festival. So explore the schedule and start planning your 2026 FilmQuest adventure!

Arrive early and get settled. Check-in for the physical portion of the 2026 FilmQuest begins! Here you’ll get registered, receive your swag bag, VIP pass, and get the lowdown on the venue and what to expect. The earlier you are, the more you can get comfortable and prepare to enjoy the festival!

The director of the legendary genre films Trick ‘r Treat, Krampus, and Godzilla: King of Monsters gives a one-of-a-kind workshop detailing his career, process, and more. It’s his show, so come and enjoy the ride! Followed up by a 4k remastered screening of his animated short that started it all, Season’s Greetings, playing before Rubberhead at 5pm.

Director/Producer duo, and twin brothers, Jason and Jamie Neese join us to break down how to pitch, develop, write, direct, and produce television at the highest level, from Netflix to Paramount. Producers on The Umbrella Academy, Kevin Costner’s Horizon westerns, and other soon to be announced shows currently in pre-production, the Neese twins are going to entertain and enlighten as they prepare you the next leaps in your careers!

Sound Is Sexy: But Genre Filmmakers Already Know That” 10-time Emmy nominated sound editor (and FilmQuest Best Sound Winner) Patrick Hogan takes you through the most important steps as a filmmaker to ensure the sound in your film is super sexy.  Filmmakers are also welcome to send him 30-40 second clips from their films and he will review and provide some real examples of what he would do to make your sound pop. A new, all purpose soundstage and film studio from InTension Industries is now here in Provo as one of Utah’s top 3 biggest stages, and only 10 minutes from Downtown Provo. We’ve partnered with them to take you on a Studio Tour of their facilities, as we want you to explore Utah, and find out what advantages it has to offer you for your next productions.
