SYNOPSIS: As World War Two draws to a close, a sailor aboard ship on the Indian Ocean must do his duty. Watch must be kept, the horizon scanned for enemy craft and the bubble trails of deadly torpedoes, launched by stealthy submarines. Haunted and scarred by conflict and the loss of fellow shipmates, our sailor’s task is the Middle Watch, or the graveyard watch, as old mariners call it. His work includes contributions to Hollywood blockbusters like Thor, The Mist, Underworld, A Night at the Museum, Godzilla 2, and Krampus. Miguel’s directorial debut with Tran Ma, “The Green Ruby Pumpkin,” and follow-up short “The Ningyo” have earned over 35 international film festival awards.
He has been recognized as one of the Rising Stars of Animation by Animation Magazine and has been a featured speaker at FMX, Siggraph, and Annecy. Miguel’s expertise has been published in multiple books and magazines. When not working on films, he shares his knowledge as a professor at the Gnomon School of VFX in Hollywood, California.
