From 2024 to 2025, Matthew was selected for three film programs: The Mitú x Walmart Filmmaker Mentorship program, LFI x Netflix Inclusion Fellowship, and the Find Your People Program. Matthew is also a proud filmmaking mentor at Youth Cinema Project, where he teaches filmmaking to children of all grade levels across Los Angeles.

DIRECTOR’S BIO: Mimi Lee is a Taiwanese American filmmaker and photographer based in Los Angeles. She works fluidly across horror, thriller, and sci-fi, using genre as a lens for the thought-provoking, deeply human stories she wishes existed. Her training as a music artist and competitive dancer informs a directing approach rooted in performance, rhythm, and movement. Her sci-fi thriller Moonchild won Best Thriller at USC SCA’s First Look, was spotlighted by the American Cinematheque, and is distributed by DUST, while her music video SOIF won Best Music Video at the Oscar-qualifying Urbanworld Film Festival. Her latest short, YAOGUAI, was selected for IF Foundation’s Short Film Incubator and premiered at HollyShorts, with its screenplay placing among the top 1% of short screenplays on Coverfly’s Red List. Lee is a 2022–2023 MTV First Time Directors Fellow with MTV Entertainment Studios and holds an MFA in Directing from the USC School of Cinematic Arts. She is currently developing YAOGUAI as a feature.
