SYNOPSIS: Agnes Applewhite, a blossoming young woman caught between her sanctimonious mother and tightly wound sister, defies her family’s expectations by taking a job as a shampoo girl at a lively beauty salon. As she thrives in this new colorful world, she is suddenly confronted by debilitating menstrual cramps that become real-life monsters, blurring the line between reality and nightmare.

DIRECTOR’S BIO: Brooke H. Cellars (she/they) is a filmmaker and storyteller whose work spans writing, directing, producing, and editing. Since 2018, she has directed eight short films, with her award-winning horror shorts The Chills and Violet Butterfield: Makeup Artist for the Dead screening at festivals worldwide. Rooted in a lifelong love of horror and early influence from her father, a children’s book author, Brooke brings a darkly imaginative voice to her films. Beyond her creative work, she founded the Warped Witch Film Festival in Lafayette, LA, and has curated numerous showcases, most recently serving as a juror at the Overlook Film Festival.
