In 2018, Carl was selected by Screen Producers Australia as one of their “Ones To Watch”. His latest short, The Immortal, featuring Academy Award nominee James Cromwell, was made with the support of Creative Partnerships Australia and the AFTRS Creative Fellowship for daring and adventurous work.

April has garnered numerous international awards and nominations for both stage and screen works and highlights include the Special Jury award at the 53rd Worldfest, Houston and an increasing number of directing and writing awards in the horror/sci-fi/thriller genres. As the mother of a very precious and severely disabled daughter, “The Last Man on Earth” is a sci-fi thriller with a very personal message about the worth of people with disabilities. Being selected for FilmQuest is a huge thrill for April whose favourite film is “Alien”. She believes unlikely heroes and underdogs make for the best stories. Her freshmen short film, Wings, won best cinematography at New Orleans Film Festival before being selected as a Daily Pick on Film Shortage. Lorraine’s sophomore short, The Rougarou, has screened at numerous festivals, including Fantasia Film Festival, New Orleans Film Festival and Oxford Film Festival. She is currently in development on her feature film, a psychological horror about twin sisters.

Starting out as an actress and progressing onto directing, she has worked on films such as ‘Fantastic Beast’s, ‘The Love Punch’, ‘LOTR’, ‘Hitman’ and ‘Rosemary’s Baby’. ‘The Wick’ is Sabine’s third short film featuring Ian Reddington (Dr Who, Outlander, Eastenders). She directed her first short film ‘Love is blind’ in 2015 that screened worldwide in over 30 film festivals and won more than 20 awards. Her second short film ‘Resurrection’ starring Samy Naceri (the well know taxi driver in Luc Besson’s Taxi saga) is nearing the finish of its festival circuit and has played at over 40 festivals and has won many awards.

He has turned these loves into a career, working as a freelance video producer and writing/directing films whenever he can scrape together enough money. His fan film, “Spider-Man Lives: A Miles Morales Story,” went viral on YouTube and was featured by such outlets as the Washington Post, Nerdist, and the AV Club. Ivan is also an editor and writer for ShortoftheWeek.com, the leading destination for short film curation and discussion on the web.
