She’s known for stirring, cerebral and even fucked up stories – grounded in naturalism. “SOPHIE JONES”, a feature that Barr wrote, produced and starred in premiered at the 2020 Deauville Film Festival. The film screened at numerous other festivals before being acquired by Oscilloscope Laboratories with a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Barr is the recipient of the Future of Film is Female Grant, the Oregon Made Grant, and the Regional Arts and Cultural Grant in Portland. Her short film “TIGHT” recently had its world premiere at SXSW and was listed as a top 10 best film to see by Harper’s Bazaar.

SYNOPSIS: In TREADMILL_, the viewer inhabits the body of our protagonist Morgan, a member of a small team of indie programmers forced to test the prototype for a revolutionary wellness app on themselves. When a bug in the program entraps them in a hellish augmented reality, we witness through Morgan’s eyes as she and the team must navigate a labyrinth woven through the darkest corners of their minds, questioning their every sense as well as their sanity as they race to reach the server room and sever the program’s brain before they become lost forever.

DIRECTOR’S BIO: Jared Asher Harris was born and raised in Los Angeles. Chronically ill throughout his childhood, he developed a very distinct sense of creativity. When he was just shy of 14, he made a claymation film about a man named Fabio, who was born without a body. Fabio dreamed of becoming a magician, but because he was only a head with no hands, his dream was unattainable. Fabio was married to a severed foot, but she ultimately died in a shoelace accident. Fortunately for Jared, the adults in his life were more entertained by this than terrified. Thrilled by his newfound ability to captivate others, young Jared continued to refine his craft and is now a full-time director. He is incredibly grateful that, unlike Fabio, he is able to pursue his dreams.

Her films have screened at over a hundred festivals all over the world including Fantasia, Beyond Fest and Fantaspoa and have won over fifty international awards. To this day, Yfke still often wears (blood-splattered) sparkling dresses and waves a magical wand.

His fiction has appeared in Cleaver Magazine, the Columbia Journal, Ghostwatch Zine, and The Los Angeles Press. He lives in LA with his three rescue dogs and his girlfriend, the writer CJ Leede. KEEP COMING BACK, which Kouri directed, co-wrote, and stars in, is Slashtag Cinema’s first film.

Scarlet grew up in Laredo, TX on the border of Mexico, then attended TISCH School of the Arts to attain her BFA in Acting & Journalism. She then moved to Los Angeles to pursue her wildest dreams, and has been making movies ever since.

Josh Stifter began his filmmaking adventure crafting short movies with his friends after school everyday. He pursued animation and quickly found a job creating cartoons for film director Kevin Smith. He has worked with companies such as Troma, CNN, SModco, 1517 Media, and El Rey Network. After years of creating shorts and animated films, Josh decided to tackle features, jumping at the opportunity to make his first full length film with Robert Rodriguez with his Rebel Without A Crew series. It was there he completed his first film The Good Exorcist. He followed it up with his sophomore film Greywood’s Plot, and he’s now finishing his third feature Scumbag.

DIRECTOR’S BIO: Haley Z. Boston is a queer horror filmmaker hailing from Portland, Oregon. She’s currently show running her original horror series at Netflix with the Duffer Brothers producing. Her directorial debut BEACH LOGS KILL premiered at SXSW in 2024 in the Narrative Shorts Competition. She’s currently writing a feature for Tango Entertainment that she will direct. She’s also currently writing a slasher movie for Orion Pictures. Previously, she wrote on Netflix’s BRAND NEW CHERRY FLAVOR and GUILLERMO DEL TORO’S CABINET OF CURIOSITIES.

DIRECTOR’S BIO: NIK DODANI is best known as an actor, particularly for his role as Zahid in the Netflix series, Atypical, as well as for roles in Murphy Brown, Dear Evan Hansen, Waitress on Broadway, and Lee Isaac Chung’s Twisters. He will next be seen as the lead of Warner Brothers’ upcoming comedy, The Parenting, opposite Lisa Kudrow and Brian Cox. As a writer, Nik started in stand-up comedy and made his late-night debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

He then went on to work in the political and non-profit world, writing and directing content for groups like MoveOn.org, Alicia Keys’ HIV/AIDS initiative, and various campaigns. Most recently, Nik was a co-producer of Life of Pi on Broadway and will serve as co-producer for the upcoming tour. In 2019, Dodani co-founded The Salon, an organization for South Asian artists and executives in entertainment dedicated to accelerating the community’s creative development in TV and film.
