SYNOPSIS: Jane suffers from haphephobia (the pathological fear of touch), tormented by years of loneliness and isolation she orders a synthetic love doll online to nightmarish consequences.

DIRECTOR’S / FILMMAKER’S BIO: Niall Shukla is a British writer / director with Irish & Asian heritage. After graduating from university with a degree in Economics and Philosophy, he decided to purse his true ambitions as a filmmaker.

His first short film GUILT was made entirely as a one man crew and was selected to play in festivals as well as art galleries globally, it also won the jury Award at the National Film Festival for Talented Youth.

BABA YAGA ORIGINS

SYNOPSIS: Baba Yaga, the famously evil witch from Russian folklore was not always evil. An herbalist’s evening of concocting potions and salves is interrupted when a lustful brute forces his way into her secluded hut. The following trauma leaves the woman emboldened and determined to reclaim her independence by any means necessary and thus a legend is born.

DIRECTOR’S / FILMMAKER’S BIO: Sean is an established, award winning cinematographer and film director with a passion for telling stories through astonishing, cinematic images. His unique eye for composition paired with over a decade of experience as a professional filmmaker has made Sean much more than a camera for hire. Throughout his career, Sean has conceived, directed, filmed and edited commercial material for independent and high profile clients alike, utilizing an ever-changing arsenal of sophisticated movie making components.

BURN

SYNOPSIS: In the midst of national hysteria and incomprehensible personal tragedy, a child is born bearing the scars of other people’s sins.

DIRECTOR: Judson Vaughan

DIRECTOR’S / FILMMAKER’S BIO: Judson has been directing and screenwriting since 2012, ‘Trigger’ his first feature screenplay was optioned and also the winner of a number of awards including the ‘Richard Vetere’ Screenplay Award at the Long Island Film Festival. Directing since late 2012, ‘The Moment’ was his first short film, a comedy-drama, picking up Best Short film Under 5 Minutes at the Rob Knox Film Festival and Nominated Best Editing at the Laugh or Die Comedy Film Festival, it also scooped Best Direction at Real Teal Film Festival.

EMBERS & DUST

SYNOPSIS: As the radio broadcast of War of The worlds travels across the airwaves, a young boy’s imagination is sparked, sending him on his own kind of vision quest, deep into the neighboring forest.

DIRECTOR’S / FILMMAKER’S BIO: As a filmmaker, Patrick gravitates towards small melancholic moments and finds the fantastical within them. Creating an emotional hook with visually arresting imagery. For Patrick, short films serve as postcards from another time and place; a beautiful story told in a constricted space and told briefly.

Patrick Biesemans has directed two previous short films and an independent feature film, that was released through Sony & The Orchard in 2016. This will be Patrick’s first short film written, produced, and directed by him.

FANMAN’S BASEMENT

SYNOPSIS: A stop-motion animated short film about a pop-culture fanatic calling himself ‘The Fanman’ who starts a Youtube channel out of his mother’s basement. Wearing the iconic mask of a certain caped-crusader and vowing an oath of anonymity, he chases internet fame by trying wholeheartedly to make a viral video.

DIRECTOR’S / FILMMAKER’S BIO: Drew Lewis is a director, writer and editor of commercials, branded content and music videos. He has directed content for Delta Air Lines, Seventeen Magazine, P&G, Capital One, SIMPLE Mobile and more. Drew began his journey as a filmmaker at the age of twelve in Houston, Texas, when his father brought home a VHS-C camcorder that he had won in a raffle at work. It wasn’t long before he began experimenting with making his own short films, and by the time he graduated high school, he had written, directed and edited nearly a dozen of them.

FEARLESS

SYNOPSIS: Fearless takes place in ancient Peloponnese times, thousands of years ago, a lawless place forging tough individuals.

DIRECTOR: Thiago Micalopulos

DIRECTOR’S / FILMMAKER’S BIO: Thiago Micalopulos Director, producer, animator, editor; Drawing and working with computers since a very young age, Thiago Micalopulos always had a strong passion for storytelling, illustrating stories and enhancing them with digital tools sounded like a challenge to him. Bringing scripts to life, penciling comics for years before graduating in Fine Arts school, always having animation as an ultimate goal. Moving to the US from Brazil in 2002 at the age of 22, Thiago lives in New York City since then. Producing animated short and music clips with hand keyed animation and own original designs. Finally in 2017 concluding his first original piece, a five-minute-long animated film titled FEARLESS.

MIDNIGHT DELIVERY

SYNOPSIS: Midnight Delivery begins when a mysterious gift is delivered to an unsuspecting woman’s door at the stroke of midnight. The woman’s morbid fascination entices her to examine the gift, unleashing a sinister evil from within.

DIRECTOR: Nathan Crooker

DIRECTOR’S / FILMMAKER’S BIO: Nathan Crooker began his career as an actor in 1997 working on such hit shows as “Law and Order” and starring opposite Rosario Dawson in the 2005 Sundance hit This Revolution where his performance garnered rave reviews from Variety. He has since transitioned to being a Director/Writer for several shorts including his first film, Peace Of Mind, won Matt Newton a Best Actor award at the Philadelphia Film Festival. His second, Stuffer won numerous awards including Best Short Film in over ten festivals.

PORCELAIN STARE

SYNOPSIS: A young girl is invited for tea by an old woman. Little does she know that the woman harbours a terrible secret that will soon be uncovered.

DIRECTOR’S / FILMMAKER’S BIO: Robin is an award winning director who’s always had an interest in film making and a love for films. He was born in Switzerland and studied in London. THE BABY WHISPERER

SYNOPSIS: Ten year old Ruby’s relationship with her beloved antique witch doll takes on a sinister dimension when she comes to believe she can be reunited with her dead mother.

DIRECTOR’S / FILMMAKER’S BIO: Sean is an award winning filmmaker whose body of work spans film, music videos and documentary. He has directed over 40 music videos for many of Australia’s most acclaimed musicians including Missy Higgins, Silverchair, The Sleepy Jackson, The Living End, Tim Finn, The Birds of Tokyo and Gin Wigmore. Sean’s short films have won accolades and screened internationally with his latest, The Baby Whisperer, premiering at Screamfest LA in 2017. His feature documentary Fantome Island screened at The Brisbane International Film Festival, won Best Australian Film at the Human Rights Arts and Film Festival and recently received its first national broadcast on Australian television. It’s Sean’s passion for storytelling, performance and fresh creative ideas that keeps tickling his fancy.

He has carved a niche for himself in being able time and time again to create quality work within constrained working budgets. His favorite genre for his stories are horror and fantasy.
